The membership of NBMBAA-DFW were made BiTWise at Microsoft in April 2010. Sponsored by the employees of the Microsoft Information Technology team, this social networking event was held at the Microsoft Corporation Las Colinas Facility and aimed to connect professionals in the information technology industry to a new online social community as well to create a pipeline for the youth in the local area.
Chief Technology Officer, Cameron Evans, opened the evening with a purpose-filled welcome sharing the urgency of connecting others to the industry. Mario Pipkin, a 15-year veteran employee of Microsoft, shared his colorful journey from the California streets to the top-highest ranking African-American at Microsoft.
At the close of the reception, attendees were allowed to tour the Envisioning center to learn about the new Microsoft product offerings such as Windows 2010 and the Cloud Computing server application.
